Previous to private practice, Cathy worked in a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed adolescents; worked as a therapist for developmentally delayed adult male patients; was a caseworker and supervisor for Child Protective Services and; Director of Social Work at a private inpatient mental hospital. In addition to Cathy’s main employment, Cathy also started her clinical practice on a part-time basis as a contract therapist with what was then The Parenting Guidance Center (now The Parenting Center) and then moved into her own part- time private practice. Cathy’s  main employment and part-time clinical practice continued from 1983 until she started in full time private practice in 1990.
