Previous to private practice, Cathy worked in a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed adolescents; worked as a therapist for developmentally delayed adult male patients; was a caseworker and supervisor for Child Protective Services and; Director of Social Work at a private inpatient mental hospital. In addition to Cathy’s main employment, Cathy also started her clinical practice on a part-time basis as a contract therapist with what was then The Parenting Guidance Center (now The Parenting Center) and then moved into her own part- time private practice. Cathy’s part-time clinical practice continued from 1983 until she started in full time private practice in 1990.

Cathy has two small, hypoallergenic, Registered Emotional Support Dogs who assist in the therapeutic process.
